GT: I Love Pink!

I'm running late with this week's meme...too busy with so many things...

I love this week's theme for Girl's Talk. Pink is definitely my favorite color! I'm a certified pink addict, that's why I've prepared so much for this post. Sadly our cam in not available so some photos here were taken using my cellphone ;(.

Why pink? It's such a feminine color, this reflects the softer side of me. It gives me the feel of comfort and care. The color pink brings out the youth in me, one reason why I still feel and look young lol ;)

Since it's my favorite color, your bet is just right, most of my things come in different shades of pink, though when I got married I've shifted to more neutral colors especially on stuff for the household and the things me and my husband use in common.

My pink stuff ranges from bedsheets with matching pillow cases, face and hand towels, more personal stuff such as undies, socks and hankies, to trinkets and collectibles. I have at least one piece of pink in all of these --- blouses and bottoms, accessories, bags, wallets/coin purse and footwear. And like if you plan to make an surprise check out of me, you'll get to find at least one in my stuff that's pink.

Here are some of them:

my Ipanema slides

tops and bottoms

a fuchsia pink top

bags and wallets

underwear organizer

make up kits, monster purse, shoe bag and washing bag

office supplies such as scissors and markers

I haven't been able to take photos of my office desk which is adorned by pink stuff such as my mechanical pencil, pink pen, desk calendar, desk organizer, note holder and my Hello Kitty spoon, fork & chopsticks set.

just like K, I have this piggy bank
which has been with me for almost 10 years now :)
and which gave me lotsa savings!

my Hello Kitty thermal mug

some Hello Kitty collectibles

my Hello Kitty beanie stuff toy,
a gift from a colleague based in
Japan - authentic!

Household items were not exempted, most of these items were purchased when I was still single, to name a few are pails and dippers, table clothes, curtain, picture frames and food containers. My side of the closet hangs on pink hangers.

Gift items such as candle holder, candles, angels and some wedding favors that comes in this hue adds up to my pink collectibles.

And since I've got a baby girl, I'm just so excited about her stuff...I'm now imposing on her my favorite color...well just for the meantime she's not able to complain yet, unless Pink becomes her favorite as well, which i
s sooo very fine with me.

Maia in her pink romper with matching pink shoe socks,
other items such as her baby bag, rattle, bib,
feeding bottle, formula milk container are also in pink.

Classy Black (Girl's Talk)

Oh well, I've been so busy with work, that I really have to squeeze in blogging into my very hectic schedule, plus being a mom and wife which is 24/7...

I've mentioned before that I was raised by an overly traditional grandparents, which often had a say on anything and everything while I was growing up. Therefore, I grew up with a notion that the color Black represents formality and is the color in times of bereavement...too old-school isn't it?

During my younger years, I really don't have anything in this shade until I've started working that I started owning items in this color palate. Of course, the usual black pants, skirt, bag,
shoes which I often use for work.

Since then, I've accumulated quite a number of items in this color, here are some:

Personal effects - I have my Girbaud bag, a gift from my brother's first return from his work overseas, been with me for years now yet still looks a bit new. A Hello Kitty bag, also a gift from one of my best friends. My RL black wallet which I featured here on GT. All my formal footwear are in this color.

Clothing - a number of black tees and tops and a few bottoms to match my very colorful collection of clothes ;) But I have this one black classic dress by BCBG which I am very much boastful of, I really feel sexy when wearing it, though I've only wore it once - when I had to fit it lol!. I've read somewhere and sometime ago (while I was still very much a fashionista) to maintain at least one black dress that can be dependable for any occasion.

Gadgets - my new Samsung Corby phone is in black and the sleek personal computer which we bought last Christmas (from our savings last year) is also in black.

Green Minded for Girl's Talk & Go Green Friday

I am green! I love this color. It represents the color of nature - the green fields, trees, leaves, insects, even birds ;). It signify freshness. When I'm in the midst of 'greens' I feel calmed, it is as if you can commune with nature, with God's beautiful creations. It also symbolizes wealth.

Green is what me and my husband have in common. Our love for nature. When we were on the getting-to-know-you stage, and with the nature of our jobs, we were delighted to know that both share the same calmness in the sight of the rice fields during long trips or the blending hues of greens in a forest. And we get emotionally disturb when we see a brown in what is supposed to be a green forested area - this sight makes our job really difficult!

Green also represents health. Another reason why I'm into greens, I love veggies. Not so vegetarian here because I do eat meat but as I mature I come to realize the benefits of eating greens. It really shows in the texture of one's hair, in one's complexion, in one's posture. I particularly am a fan of pinakbet especially when it's cooked by my husband - so authentic Ilocano style. I likewise an fond of fresh salad, at one point before getting pregnant with Maia, it was my daily lunch meal. On this aspect, my husband and I are too proud to say that our son Leon got the tongue for veggies as well. When ask of what veggies he eats, he'll immediately point to his fingers in a manner enumerating his fave 5...sayote, okra, labong, ampalaya and sitaw. Close friends of the family are quite amazed at him for his appetite for food including veggies.

As for my green personal paraphernalia, I've got dresses, tops and bottoms in this color but of different shades. I have a pair of crocs prima in mint green. Accessories and kikay stuff to match the wardrobe are also available in this color. Even some stuff for the household such as food containers, crates, curtains and linens are available, too.

This picture was taken Christmas day of 2009, green being our motif...and this is also a fave dress of mine.
Personality wise --- My advocacy is on the environment. I'm a green person, inside and out...sometimes I get reprimanded by my husband because he can't take the green-me, you know what I mean ;)

That's how green I am...how about you?

Shades of Purple

This week's theme...PURPLE and any shades of it...I liked the color when I was a little younger but my very traditional grandma discourages me as it is (as older people say) the color of death. But when I grew older and wiser, I began acquiring some pieces in this color.

I do own a gown, more on the lavander shade, this I wore in an office occasion as a fairy with pink wings to match the shade. I have a trapeze blouse, a tee with Pinoy superheroes design and a hooded jacket for the rainy season. I also have 2 pairs of undies one in purple shade while the other lavender. There is also a pair of socks which is currently hanging on the clothesline coz it's my favorite pair. I do have some trinkets and collectibles such as angels clad in purple gown and some hair accessories.

here I am with my officemates during last year's Christmas party.
I'm the one in purple standing at the rightmost part.

Lady in Red (Girl's Talk #1 for September)

This month's meme is fun! Indeed it'll be a colorful month. RED is this week's theme color

The lady in red isn't really who I am, for one reason RED isn't my favorite color. But I can be confident in saying that the color looks fine on me because of my slightly fair-light complexion.

Funny to realize that despite it not being a fave color, I still own some pieces that are really RED and here they are:

Clothes - clockwise from top: Gap spandex tee, Bohemian/peasant blouse, turtle neck top, University of Potsdam tee - a gift from my German friend and a polo shirt. And by the w
ay, I must admit, I own a RED underwear!

Shoes, a bag and accessories - my ever favorite footwear Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers (my son Leon's pair also is in red), a bag from Vietnam (featured in one of my GT blog), a kikay kit which I use as my alternate gadget case (also a Christmas gift from an officemate friend), a Hello Kitty coin purse (from a friend as pasalubong who visited Japan), a fancy ring and my ever dependable pair of eyeglasses which has been with me for more than two years now.and here I am wearing the Bohemian red blouse which I got from a garage sale, together with my husband and son for our 2008 Christmas color motif: Red to give honor to our father who passed away on that year, it's his favorite color, just to make us feel his presence on our first Christmas without him.
