GT: I Love Pink!

I'm running late with this week's meme...too busy with so many things...

I love this week's theme for Girl's Talk. Pink is definitely my favorite color! I'm a certified pink addict, that's why I've prepared so much for this post. Sadly our cam in not available so some photos here were taken using my cellphone ;(.

Why pink? It's such a feminine color, this reflects the softer side of me. It gives me the feel of comfort and care. The color pink brings out the youth in me, one reason why I still feel and look young lol ;)

Since it's my favorite color, your bet is just right, most of my things come in different shades of pink, though when I got married I've shifted to more neutral colors especially on stuff for the household and the things me and my husband use in common.

My pink stuff ranges from bedsheets with matching pillow cases, face and hand towels, more personal stuff such as undies, socks and hankies, to trinkets and collectibles. I have at least one piece of pink in all of these --- blouses and bottoms, accessories, bags, wallets/coin purse and footwear. And like if you plan to make an surprise check out of me, you'll get to find at least one in my stuff that's pink.

I haven't been able to take photos of my office desk which is adorned by pink stuff such as my mechanical pencil, pink pen, desk calendar, desk organizer, note holder and my Hello Kitty spoon, fork & chopsticks set.

Household items were not exempted, most of these items were purchased when I was still single, to name a few are pails and dippers, table clothes, curtain, picture frames and food containers. My side of the closet hangs on pink hangers.

Gift items such as candle holder, candles, angels and some wedding favors that comes in this hue adds up to my pink collectibles.

And since I've got a baby girl, I'm just so excited about her stuff...I'm now imposing on her my favorite color...well just for the meantime she's not able to complain yet, unless Pink becomes her favorite as well, which is sooo very fine with me.

GT: Me and my Emotions

Talking about our emotions for this week's meme, allow me to say that I do have a high emotional quotient - there's a proof to it. In the organization that I work with, we have a regular aptitude and e.q. test for its employees and I'm proud to say that mine is consistently high ;)

Beyond the scientific proof, I may also say that the relationships I build with the people around me can speak for it.

Why is this so. I cry. I often remember the words of my grandfather when he was still alive, "cry". He told me to release my feelings, specially the negative ones by crying it out, to relieve myself, to be able to think better and to avoid getting heart ailments. Crying doesn't show weakness, interestingly, it brings out our strength. Our minds get clearer once our heart is freed from stress. I've kept it mind, it helped me go through lives challenges until now.

I'm a jolly person as well. I try to find the goodness of every person or of any situation. I try not to dwell too much on negativities...it lessen the smile-lines on my face. I guess, it is one of my beauty secrets, that's why I don't look my age. Most of the time, people mistakenly thinks that I'm the youngest in the siblings, when in fact, I'm the eldest.

GT: My Spiritual Being

Its' Thursday once again, Girls Talk day. Today's topic is on one's spirituality.I'm a Roman Catholic by faith while Islam runs through my blood. My maternal grandfather is straight Islam while my maternal grandmother remained a devout Catholic. They may be on different sides when it comes to their faith but they walked on a common ground in terms of their spiritual beliefs.

In spite of differences in our faith, my grandfather insisted on us going to an exclusive Catholic school in high school. Beside the exclusivity of the school, I believed my grandfather wanted us to strengthen our faith while studying there.

I grew up in an environment of mixed faith, aside from the above, we had acquaintances who had spiritual beliefs other than ours. Thus it somehow molded me into what I am now spiritually speaking. I believe in one Supreme Being regardless of how we call Him. I am open to whatever beliefs others may have as long as it does not degrade the belief of others. I do my spiritual obligations, as well as try hard to practice what is being though to me by my faith. It is my spirituality that dictates my values in life, it is the core of my whole personality. It is through my spiritual being that I commune with my God, enhancement of it is my way of deepening my relationship with my Lord.

I do not engage in heavy discussions with regards to my spiritual beliefs, my stand will always be "I respect your faith, please respect mine". I also believe that there is no need to prove the existence of a Supreme Being, just look around us, there's enough proof.
